My life is painting, whether I am teaching my students, or learning about other artists' styles and techniques. I am inspired by Hyper-realist artists as: Damian Loeb, Alyssa Monks,
Simon Hennessey, Jason
de Graaf, and Gerald Schwartz, artists who can see and paint what
sometimes we don’t see.
I
believe that human experience and emotions are most naturally and profoundly
expressed through art. A work of art can capture all of the beauty and pain of
life, and hold onto it. For me, art brings personal growth: I can step back
from my creation and uncover deeper layers of myself. This expanded vision of
myself inspires my future work and my teaching. As an art teacher, I like to
inspire people in the same ways that art inspires me.
In my work I enjoy the challenge of using special effects. Seeing
how water changes objects and reflects colors have been always magical to me. My new still life collection illustrates how to use mirroring, reflection and lighting techniques when painting water drops.
